Thunder Falls Short in NBA Cup Finals
The Oklahoma City Thunder's title hopes were dashed last night as they fell to the Milwaukee Bucks 97-81 in the #NBA Cup Finals. Despite coming into the game as the superior team in the league's rankings, the Thunder were unable to overcome a strong performance from the Bucks, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo's 26-point triple-double.
The Thunder struggled on multiple fronts, including a nonexistent second-unit offense, which scored just 15 of their 81 points. They also lost the rebounding battle, grabbing 43 rebounds compared to the Bucks' 52. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's offensive inefficiency, particularly in the fourth quarter, was a costly factor in the Thunder's loss.
The Thunder's inability to score effectively from beyond the arc was also a significant contributor to their defeat, as they went 5-for-32 (15.6%) from three-point range. Despite their best efforts, the Thunder were unable to get anything going from deep, which ultimately led to their defeat.
